Guest Speakers Biography:

Danny Hughes is Chief Technical Officer and co-founder of Versasense NV, a KU Leuven spin-off company that provides an end-to-end secure Industrial IoT fabric. Danny also holds a Professorship with the  Department of Computer Science at KU Leuven (Belgium), where he leads the Networked Embedded Software Taskforce and focusses on tackling the biggest challenges facing the Internet of Things. Danny recieved a PhD from Lancaster University (UK) and has since worked as a Visiting Scholar with the University of California at Berkeley (USA), a Visiting Scholar with the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and as a Lecturer with XJTLU (China). Danny has published over 150 academic papers and his work has been featured in Wired Magazine, the New Scientist and Slashdot

Jeroen Goudsmit is a Mathematician with a focus on investigative analytics. He studied Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and Mathematics and obtained a PhD in Mathematics. He works as a manager in the Forensics Data Analytics practice of PwC, where he focuses on using data analysis to  build trust. Artificial intelligence is a powerful concept in this domain, but requires great care to be effective. Jeroen in particularly interested in strategies for managing AI.
